Abstract:

Weather Modification is defined as the intentional human actions done to manipulate or alter weather patterns for the benefits of a region.  Cloud seeding is the most frequency approach which consists in the introduction of chemicals like silver iodide, calcium chloride, or dry ice, to encourage phase

changes in the targeted clouds.  Recently, atmospheric ionization has become another possible tool, and research is actively done around the world to explore its real potentialities.  It is important to point out that experts also talk about non-intentional weather modification actions referring to accidental alteration of weather patterns caused by humans for entirely different goals.
